How to Go Caving

What to Expect on a Caving Trip at USA Raft Adventure Resort!

Fun!

Your caving trip will be a wild exploration into the complete darkness of the earth below. You will be provided with an expert local caving guide and all of the necessary gear, including head protection and dome light.

How long will I be in the cave?

The length of your caving trip is completely up to you and your guide. Most people are in the cave for a couple of hours, but if you go to the back it could take 4-6 hours depending on your pace.

Can I go by myself?

No. We do not allow solo caving trips. This is for your safety, as there is no way to communicate to the outside world if you run into any trouble.

What should I bring into the cave?

You should wear clothes that you do not mind getting muddy. Bring a change of clothes so that you can ride home in something clean. We also recommend that you wear mid to high sole hiking shoes or tennis shoes. Your feet will get wet, so waterproof shoes would be even better!

What else should I know about Worley’s Cave?

Worley’s Cave is a primitive cave, which means there are no standing lights, rails, or other types of assistance. Temperatures within the cave remain constant at about 55 degrees, making it a great year-round adventure.

Book your Worley’s Cave caving trip today and experience an adventure you’ll never forget! No prior experience is required. Learn more about caving in Northeast Tennessee at usaraft.com.

Closed for 2025

The obstacles to opening USA Raft Adventure Resort for the 2025 Season have simply overwhelmed our desire and work to re-open. Jones Branch Rd remains significantly damaged preventing heavy equipment access to the resort needed to complete major repairs. While we are excited to share the new and amazing Nolichucky River with you but must finish the dirty work of rebuilding.
